Generation Gives Connects 10 Schools in Vieques to Internet

Generation Gives connects every school on isolated island to internet. Vieques, Puerto Rico is separated from the main island of Puerto Rico, and the community of 9,000 inhabitants suffered enormously after Hurricane Maria. Generation Gives partnered with Vieques Love to ensure every school will have more reliable internet from now on and available in the event of future disasters with infrastructural damage and loss of connectivity.

How GARMIN Helped Us Save Lives

GARMIN InReach Locators were a necessity in our emergency tool kit after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on September 16, 2017. GARMIN helped Generation Gives communicate with members of the U.S. Navy and Army, RedCross, Grocery Store/ ATM owners, Radio Producers, and local liaisons who helped the community of Vieques after the disaster.
